Last Night

Last night I did not blog.

I came home, changed, and plopped on the bed with some icee's from the freezer.

I watched 2 and a Half Men until Hubby got home.

Then we went and got gas and dinner.

We ate in bed, after I convinced him it was funner that way.

Doing nothing, eating in bed, on a random tuesday night and the best pep talks in the world.

Just a couple reasons why I love him.

My personal advice to you all today?

Eat in bed.

It's funner.

Things that SUCKED today

Top 10 Sucky Things about Today....

I could seriously use one of these right now...

1. Woke up to a swollen face because I cried myself to sleep about my dog last night. I miss her like crazy. I literally can feel the void of her. The emptiness.

2. Then marched into the bathroom half asleep to find a gigantic spider in the bath tub.  I had to go find some glasses so I could see the creeper and then I sprayed it with Windex.  That caused it to hide under a washcloth so I had to go grab an old shoe and smash it. Then by the time I disinfected the shower, I decided to take a bath...in the other bathroom...away from spiders.

3. I managed somehow, to grab everything I needed for work, except my keys, and shut the locked front door. Fabulous. Thank the good sweet Lord, I called Hubby (whose phone had luckily NOT died yet) and he told me where to get the spare key. Still had to call my boss and was 10 minutes late.

4. After a few hours at work I discovered Aunt Flow had came to visit me, which explains #1 a lot more.

5. 50 trillion customers interrupted me today anytime I was trying to be productive.

6. I got bad cramps. Thanks for nothing, Midol.

7. Got a phone call from Hubby that he just spent $170.00 on Amazon.  Reminded Hubby, not so sweetly, that 7 years ago during out marriage counseling we decided $50.00 was the limit on spending without CONSULTING THE OTHER!!!!

8. Checked my mail to see if my amended tax return check was there, and it wasn't. Again.

9. Made eggs for dinner. Proceeded to also bake some rolls and ate them with strawberry rhubarb jelly from Gatlinburg.  Wait. That started to sound good. I ate 400 calories worth before I banned myself from the kitchen.

10. Probably just disappointed Hubby because I didn't make him dinner and he just now got home....#wifefail #heissickofeggs #nowthecatwantsattention

11. Just to add-I had to hear about Miley Cyrus. All. Day. Long.

Despite the sucky, it was still a good day. Lots to be thankful for and lots of blessings.

Cheer me up, whats one good thing that happened to you today?

I must say...that roll and jelly did make me feel better :)

Treehouse Vineyards & Meal Prep

Hey loves!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Ours was pretty great.

Yesterday we went and used a Groupon that I had bought LAST YEAR to use on our anniversary and of course it expired in two weeks.  Luckilly hubby was off Saturday and we randomly decided to use it after we met for lunch.

It was for a local vineyard called Treehouse Vineyards.  Its only been open a couple years but its a beautiful area tucked away in our town!

It was an absolutely gorgeous day!

Date Day!

The groupon was for a wine tasting, tour and two souvenir glasses.

The special thing about this winery is that the owners live right on the property that has been in the family for over 200 years. The husband had a treehouse built for his wife in the backyard so they could have date nights close to home.  You can go up in the treehouse too.

They also have another treehouse that you can rent over night or by the hour I believe.  It even has a bed, bathroom, kitchen, grill, everything for a romantic night!  They also have 3 horses on the property and all the wines are named after the people and places (and maybe horses :) on the winery.

Our favorites were Sweet Union and Date Nite.

We had a great time!

Today was a wonderful Sunday.  We have went to my brothers church again this week and we LOVE it.  They had a special outdoor baptism today and it was amazing, so so many people decided to publicly follow Jesus.  I loved it!

 Going to church!

An update on the brother: he is finally settled into his new home in VA, and is very close to Virginia Beach. So far he LOVES his barracks. Its much roomier than the last one!

I have been meal prepping all day it seems like.  This is the menu for this week:

Breakfasts: Breakfast burrito made with egg substitute, turkey bacon and a bit of cheese.
Cottage cheese and diced pears.

Lunch: sautéed onions and peppers, brown rice and grilled chicken with salad.

Snacks: Either apples, cashews, kettle corn or granola bars.

Dinners: Different each night.

We have been watching Duck Dynasty re runs ( I think ) and now its 10pm so I am fixing to head to bed.  I will try to blog better this week...!!!!

The Most Important Number

I don't care what anyone says.

The number on the scale IS important.

It's what we all go by to measure our weight loss success or failure.

Yeah, you shouldn't let the number on a scale define you, you should want to be lean and muscular, etc...

But honestly I could give two unicorn farts about muscle.

GASP.

That is unheard of in the weight loss blog community!

But its true.

I just wanna be skinny. I want to weigh 150 lbs and get my new wardrobe hubby promised me.

Is that too much to ask????

It is if you also want to be a fatty who eats animal crackers for deserts and makes casserole's for dinner that are supposed to be "skinny" but they aren't when you eat 2-3 servings of them.

I digress.

Basically I know weight lifting is good for you, nothing wrong with a little muscle.  I know that it burns calories longer than cardio...I have read all about it.  But I just like cardio.

Trust me. It was hard for me to "like" any exercise at all.

I was always picked last for teams in gym class, I HATED running the mile and was always last and out of breath and dreaded gym like the PLAGUE!!!!

So the fact that I can put up with cardio in my life, is amazing.

Listen I just want the freaking scale to me...are ya with me?

I don't know what to do. I KNOW I have to count calories but the more cleaner I eat the harder it is, because I don't really know how many calories is in THAT particular apple or banana.  I am sorry but I like food with a bar code.

I like healthy food too its just harder to log for certain the calories.

Ugh.

Anyone loose a ton of weight on cardio alone? What do you do in the gym?

On plan, Baby Brother & Low Carb Dinner

Hey guys!

I just wanted to check in with you all and let you know how things have been going this week!  I have ate REALLY well except I had a bit too many chips yesterday night when we ate Mexican but I said NO I am not going to worry about it, I ordered pretty healthy other than that and I have worked out every single day this week!  I am also logging into myfitnesspal!

Ok so today I got contacts YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited and so tired of hearing that I look like that chick from criminal minds. AHEM.

So I plan on being hot for my man for vacation this year!! We have been looking at hotels and cabins this week. I kinda want a hotel more but some of those rooms cost as much as a cabin! How much is too much for yall to pay for a hotel room? I am SO stinkin cheap that the entire time we have been married I usually go with the cheapest thing, however the past two years we have somewhat upgraded but I still have a cheapie heart <3 lol.

We are also planning to go the week of Thanksgiving which makes it more expensive but extends my vacation a bit longer lol.

In other news little brother is shipping out to Oceana, Virginia!  Do I have any VA readers?  I am so glad its close!  He will be 22 in a couple of days and this is the first birthday I have ever missed.

Ok so in closing I am going to tell you about what I ate for dinner! It was very low carb and delicious.

One bag of steamable broccoli
One salmon burger
Shreadded cheese
Texas Pete

I cooked the burger on the stove, popped the broccoli into the microwave and cooked it.  I basically cut up the burger and threw it all into a bowl and drizzled hot sauce over it. LOVED IT!!!!!

Happy Friday everyone! I will try to post some this weekend!!!!

Im still about 5lbs away from my pedicure...wahhhhhhh!!!!

Weekend fun & First green smoothie EVER!

Hey loves!

I hope you all had a fabulous Monday!! Mine was pretty good.

This weekend has been pretty cool.  Friday me and hubs ate some Japanese and went tax free shopping and Costco shopping!

Saturday I had an eye appointment to get contacts and before that I worked and mom and me had lunch at the best little Chinese place that mom used to go to a lot.  We also did some random shopping/window shopping!  I had to run by Costco and aldis again to stock up for the week.  Finally got some k cups! I have been missing them so.

Sunday we went to church and then to Zaxbys for lunch.  Our Zaxbys gives you a free drink if you show your church bulletin on Sunday.  I got the grilled chicken salad with the cheese and fried onions on the side.  It was so good.  We did more tax free shopping for hubby and got him some stuff for work.  He came home and after some resting washed and completely detailed my car. I loves him.

Today was good.  I started out with my FIRST ever green smoothie!!!

It was really good! I couldn't taste the spinach!  I used a scoop of Jillian Michaels vanilla shake protein powder, 1 cup almond milk, half a banana (frozen), and some ice.

Then later on I had half a cup of vanilla greek yogurt with pineapple and pecan chips sprinkled on top.

Lunch was a curried tuna wrap with veggies and apples.

Cherries for a snack.

I came home and made salmon burgers and broccoli and mac and cheese (hubby had a hard Monday!).  It was great.

I got these dole frozen bananas dipped in dark chocolate (100 cals a pack) at Costco and had one. Then had some frozen berries (one pack of splenda) with a bit of milk. SO good! Like ice cream almost.  And then some fresh raspberries the same way in a small bit of milk.  Thanks for the idea mom!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  What have you been up to?

Baby Shower & Brother Update

Hey loves!

I am so sorry for the absence lately but I was just not feeling well last week or at the start of this week.  I am feeling better now though and I wanted to update you all!

We had a baby shower for our Bible study girls tonight at Panera Bread.  There are three of them preggo! Two boys and a girl!  We are all so excited!!!

April (with baby Braden) Lauren (with Baby Chapel) and Christin (with Baby Jacob)

Me and April with Baby Braden in the tummy :)

April is my cousin also for those of you new to the blog :)

I am so excited for everyone!!!

It was a surprise shower and they were all so happy!

I am so tired right now. This week has just drained me of energy. LOL.

Plus I spent half the day at a DMV in another state for work. Can we say BORING?

My food was great today, very much on par, except for the cupcake I ate at the party.

Bah. Oh well.

Me and Hubby are really going to try to get on the ball and eat cleaner.
I am not going to buy us splenda any more, either real sugar (for him) or Truvia (for me).

The more I read about it the more I know we shouldn't be consuming it.

I really want to make a trip to Costco this weekend too. There are so many things I want to stock up on. I haven't been since like April!

Oh and please pray for my sweet brother if you think about it, he has pneumonia right now and has been on bed rest the past two days.  This is probably the sickest he has been (maybe ever) and he is very far from home.  AND he has to depend on his room mates to get him food, last night they only gave him a hot pocket (poor guy).

Good thing is, he graduates in like 7 days on August 8th, but he wont know where he is going till then! Apparently they hand you a plane ticket and then just tell you where to go! Ugh. Pray its close, yall!

Love you all SO SO much and hope you are having a wonderful week!!

xoxo Lauyn
